Audrey Merrifield

Audrey is a 2025 graduate from Alma College with directed studies in Music Composition. She is a proficient percussionist and keyboardist, having spent the past eight years in marching bands, concert and symphonic bands, jazz groups, chamber ensembles, and the Alma College Percussion Studio.

In her youth, Audrey was fascinated by the emotional and exciting quality of cinematic music – the works of John Powell, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, etc. helping to guide her awareness of the strengths of music in film.

Starting out as a performance musician, she learned through experience that she loved writing music more than actually performing. A switch of her major from performance to composition afforded her the opportunity to explore her musical voice and style, leading to writing for choral groups and instrumental ensembles.

In her final year at Alma, Audrey was given multiple opportunities to experience success in her music including live performances of her pieces as well as short films including her original scores. Along with these short films, Audrey also experienced immense joy and success with her very first choral piece, When You Sing My Song. The Alma College Choir performed the premiere for her piece and helped bring her music to the market. Audrey thrives to continue writing for voice as well as any cinematic or instrumental opportunities that come her way!

Audrey is excited and currently seeking collaborative projects or commissioned music opportunities including film, choral, and instrumental music!
